2005-10-15 [Igorina]: By the fire, the young man stirred but did not wake up. His expression screwed up and became painful. He moved his head a little but it was as if he was caught and couldn't move it freely. He suddenly breathed in sharply and the most inhuman sound escaped his lips, not so loud as to be very noticeable but a thin sharp cry that rang with impossible mental and physical pain. It was like hearing a child cry in its sleep but grossly inconsistent with the age of the young man. His hand moved out from under his cloak a bit and he clenched it in a fist so alarmingly tight, his fingernails dug into the flesh of his palm and it began to bleed slightly.

2005-10-15 [Skife]: Bethel took a long drink from her pint of ale then set it down on the bar. "Love is that what they are calling it? Did those two walk in together or was it lust at first sight? What ever happened to that sappy stuff I read about in books?"

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: Jynx chuckled. " It's a changing world, darling, " she said and closed her eyes in contentment. " Some are in it for themselves. Some grab it where they can. And for a rare few...it's perhaps more than just a night's merriment, I reckon." She opened her eyes. " Call me cynical but I believe the last of that list grow sparser by the year. "

2005-10-15 [Skife]: "That has got to be bad for the oldest perfession in the world. I think I made a rather wise career choice between the two." Bethel took another drink of her ale. "I dont know about others but give me the sappy stuff any day. Seems more worth my time."

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: Jynx looked very amused. " I didn't know girls had a choice about such decisions nowadays, " she said with a grin. " In my experience it always seems it was an inherited job or one rather unwillingly bestowed upon you. " Her eyes glinted with mischeif. " Never knew of a young lady who had the luxury of pondering what she wanted to do with her life. "

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: " Or one that would even seriously consider it as a viable career..." she added cheekily.

2005-10-15 [Skife]: "I did not say it was much of a choice now did I?" Bethel replied.

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: Jynx closed her eyes and smiled her odd smile. " No. You didn't, " she replied. " And it's not. " 

2005-10-15 [Skife]: "You do what you can to get money. The only choice you have is if you can go through with doing what it takes. After a while you get used to it. I know I no longer feel much regret over taking a few coins off of someone," Bethel said and then took another drink.

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: Jynx shrugged. " In that corset..who would? " she answered cryptically and swept up some empty glasses to dunk into the sudsy bucket of water at her elbow.

2005-10-15 [Skife]: "Hmm? What do you mean by that?" Bethel asked.

2005-10-15 [Akayume]: Akayume stood up, wondering if the man on the couch was alright. She had been watching him out of the corner of her eye for sometime now. She walked over to him, and, gently shoke his shoulder. "Are you alright?" She asked, worried.

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: " Like you said darling...people do what they have to do when they find themselves against the wall..." was all Jynx replied as she worked on washing the glasses and setting them on the shelves.

2005-10-15 [Danboo]: Daniel"nothin.."

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: The young man shivered and suddenly his eyes snapped open and stared right through Akayume. His bleeding hand clamped onto her forearm with the desperate strength of a drowning man. " I s-swear...I swear by all the gods, " he said in a strangled whisper. " I don't know-I-don't-know....H-he never told me...never...I...oh gods...where am I? where...I'm lost...lost...down in a pit...I can't find my way back...I...I..." His breathing was rapid and panicky. " Mercy..." he gasped. " No m-more...I beg you...I can't..." His eyes closed. 2005-10-15 [Igorina]: " Master Egg upon the wall...slipped, trip and watch him fall...couldn't find the crown of a king, tell me now what the riddles mean..." he said in a madly cheerful sing-song voice and then abruptly relaxed. He slowly released Akayume and his shaking hand came to rest on his forehead. For a moment he was silent and then he sighed and his eyes opened slightly.

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: Jynx turned her attention to Daniel again, and eyed his leg. " That looks a pretty big nothing, young'un" she remarked.

2005-10-15 [Skife]: Bethel looked over at the madman, she decided it would be better not to ask so she turned her attention back to her drink and finished it off.

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: The young man's eyes slid towards Akayume and studied her for a moment in puzzlement. He blinked and sat up. " Can...can I help you madam? " he asked hesitantly, looking over her shoulder as if the answer to his question could be found there. He glanced down and looked at his bleeding hand, touched his forehead and saw where it had smeared across his pale skin. " Oh dear..." he said in a startled voice. " How the hell did that happen? " He seemed strangely more self-posessed than he had a moment before which made the previous outburst all the more mystifying.

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: Meantime Jynx eyed the lad warily. " Something's scared him witless. Completely. " she murmured, half to herself. " Poor lad..." She shook her head. When nightshift was over she'd have to go talk to Travs about what to do with this fellow. If he got violent, he didn't need to be here but Jynx whose worst fault perhaps was to pity misfits, couldn't help but think it cruel to turn him out again once his money ran out which was looking to happen soon. Besides which...she knew well what it was like to be frightened almost to the point of losing your mind...

2005-10-15 [Skife]: "That man is insane," Bethel muttered pushing the empty mug from her. "There are a bunch of strange folk here."

2005-10-15 [Igorina]: Jynx watched him quietly. " He's been institutionalized at some point, " she said distantly. " That in itself could drive a sane man mad, if the stories I've heard of how they treat the mad and feeble-brained are true. " She frowned. Something bothered her about the lad, something more than just general unease at being around someone of questionable sanity. There was something darker there.

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: "I said, are you alright?" Akayume repeated. "You're hurt, let me help you."

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: The young man looked up at her again and something seemed to cloud his expression. It was like watching a mask of soft mist settle in his eyes. " I...don't see why I wouldn't be alright, madam, " he said politely, looking down at his hand with a bemused expression. " I just seem to have scratched myself in my sleep that's all..."

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: "Well, you were rambling on, and acting not alright before." Akayume said.

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: " Rambling? " he repeated. " Well..." He scratched the back of his head. " Dreams are often troubled, madam, " he said in a low voice. " when your life is so cloak and shadow, as is mine...I'm sure it was nothing, nothing at all "

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: "Well, if you say so......" Akayume said, not believing him. "Still let me bandage up your wound."

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: A guarded smile crossed his face then. " May..May I be so bold as to ask the name of the lady? " he asked. " Before she commits herself to such a unworthy task? "

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: Akayume smiled. "My name is Akayume."

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: The young man pondered her answer. " Josiah, madam, " he answered after a moment and extended his hand.

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: Akayume shook his hand. "Its nice to met you." SHe then said, "Would you like me to bandage up that wound? You wouldnt want it to get infected."

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: " Only a little thing, " Josiah said with an off-hand shrug. " I've been sprawled out on the floor, watching my life bleed away...this in comparison seems hardly worth a healer's time. But do as you will, madam. " He smiled again his hesitant smile.

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: "Well, I would feel better if you let me bandage it up." she replied, taking out some cloth to wrap his hand up in. Whats with that smile? She thought.

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: In accordance with the quizzical look she gave him, the smile on his face disappeared as suddenly as it came and he grew sober, watching her tend to his hand without the slightest wince or reaction. She might as well have been working on someone's hand other than his own. His hands were large and calloused with broken fingernails. As she moved his sleeve she saw the condition of his wrist, rubbed raw and horribly infected presumably from shackles. His other wrist bore the same

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: "What happened to you? This isnt just a little scratch..." Akayume said, raising her head. Her eyes were filled with concern.

2005-10-16 [Danboo]: *Daniel walks back into the bar area with a steaming cup of tea*

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: " What..." Josiah glanced down at his wrists with the same bemused look he had given the cut on his hand. " These..." He frowned, thinking. " These...oh...I remember now, " he said. " Calling cards from a failed attempt on good lord Lundsay's life. I spent a brief time in his dungeons. " His eyes hooded over. " I escaped. And I finished what I has been paid to do, " he said.

2005-10-16 [Danboo]: *daniel takes a seat on a stool and continues drinking his tea*

2005-10-16 [Akayume]: "Ah, so you're an assasion then." Akayume pushed some of her hair behind her ears to reveal that they were pointed. She didnt like having other people know what race she was, but she had to do it, fo her hair was getting in her eyes.

2005-10-16 [Igorina]: " In the profession, we are merely servants of someone else's justice. We remove problems, " he said solemnly. " Though I would ask the promise of a lady not to speak of my profession to others...as it would put me in grave danger. " He looked up and saw her brushing back her hair from her ears. " You're true elven folk, then? " he asked. " You had the look about you...I didn't know if it was fae blood or just delicate features..." he remarked.

2005-10-16 [Kileaiya]: Kileaiya walked back in with a look of bumusement on her face and a bit of fatigue in her step, it had been a long day so far, and a drink was just what she needed. She laughed wearily to herself and took a seat on an empty stool at the bar, she turned to face Jynx and smiled "Get me a fire water will ya Jynx?"

2005-10-17 [Akayume]: "Don't worry, I won't say anything.....nad yes, I am an elven." She continued to wrap up his wound with care, until, at last, she finished. "There you are sir." She said with a smile.

2005-10-17 [Igorina]: Josiah looked down at his hands and nodded. " Thank you, my lady. For the silence and for the healing," he said sincerely and turned his head to give her an intensely studious look. " I have seen many elves in my life but never had the chance to talk to one face to face, " he said with a touch of wonder. " Why do you want to hide your blood? " He made a gesture around his own ear. " With the hair over the ears and all..."

2005-10-17 [Igorina]: " Straight shot or watered? " asked Jynx as she pushed herself away from the counter and steered the stool in the direction of the bottles of firewater.

2005-10-17 [Kileaiya]: "Straight shot, please" Kileaiya said.

2005-10-17 [Danboo]: "I'm getting me more tea."Daniel said then starts walking to the kitchen*

2005-10-17 [Akayume]: "Some people do not treat us right. I fear for my own life at times......" She moved her sleeve up on her own arm to show a long scar.

2005-10-17 [Igorina]: Jynx raised her eyebrows. " Must've been a day, " she remarked to Kileaiya as she got her her drink. " Don't drink too fast or you'll burn y'guts out " She smiled.

2005-10-17 [Igorina]: Josiah's eyes glance over the scar. " If you would forgive the inquisitiveness...a gentleman should not pry much into the affairs of a lady...but who would wish harm to a gentle lady such as yourself? " he asked. " Is it you personally or your blood that draws these beasts to attempt you harm? "

2005-10-17 [Akayume]: "Both. I ted to loose control at times..." Akayme replied. She blushed slightly, but it quickly went away.

2005-10-17 [Igorina]: Josiah raised his eyebrows. " For a being such as yourself who appears the epitome of self-possession and grace...that would seem odd, " he remarked. He slid off the bench and knelt in a courtly old-fashioned gesture and pulled out a knife from his belt, a plain unadorned thing starting to show signs of rust and a weapon much like most travelers would carry about them for personal protection. " I offer the lady my services if she is in need of them, " he said. He hesitated a moment as if unsure what to do next and then took her hand, giving it a respectful kiss across her knuckles as he touched the hilt of his knife against his forehead, closed his eyes and bowed his head.

2005-10-17 [Akayume]: "Thank you, and I'll remember that." She said, suprised.

2005-10-17 [Igorina]: Josiah's guarded smile crossed his face again as he opened his eyes and looked up at her. " My dagger to your command, lady, " he said and then stifled a yawn with the back of his hand as he stood up. " If the lady will forgive me...the hour is late and I must retire, I fear. I thank you again..."

2005-10-17 [Kileaiya]: "It was" Kileaiya said to Jynx, "just one of those days..."

2005-10-18 [travs the bean]: **the barkeep returned from the kitchen and placed the cleaver back under the table- he didn't say a word and than looked towards jynx for a moment- than back to his choores** so who else needs a drink?** he asked looking around the bar**

2005-10-18 [Danboo]: no..well..i couldn't i was in the emergency rooms strapped down.(in r.l. i was also in hospital)

2005-10-18 [travs the bean]: emergency room??? **the barkeep turned and looked at him perplexed** what is that??? strapped down?? you mean at the old monastary up on the hill? is that where you've been these last few days??

2005-10-18 [Lothuriel]: *Helena, groggy and still a bit shaken, slowly made her way to the tavern bar.  She looked around and noticed a few new faces. She sat quietly at the bar for a moment.*

2005-10-18 [Igorina]: In the corner, Josiah nodded to Akayume and resumed his strange sleeping position once more on the bench. Jynx raised an eyebrow as she glanced over at the young man and then discreetly made her way behind the counter and tapped at the barkeep's legs. " Cough-cough.." she said quietly.

2005-10-19 [Igorina]: She proceeded to tell him about the lad. When she finished, she said, " So it's looking like he has a few coppers for maybe a few nights....after that...well..." She fell into an uncomfortable silence.

2005-10-19 [Skife]: Bethel looked over at Helena and said, “You look like you have seen a ghost, or saw the orc and the drow kissing passionately.”

2005-10-19 [Lothuriel]: *she chuckled* Which would be the worst I can't say!

2005-10-19 [Skife]: Bethel thought for a moment then replied, "I would take the ghost over the other any day. At least with a ghost I can tell myself it was my imagination."

2005-10-22 [Igorina]: Taking this as a " we'll discuss it later " hint from the barkeep, Jynx rested her attention briefly on Akayume. Seeing the young woman looking at the crazed man as he smiled affably at her, closed his eyes and fell back asleep again, it was plain what thoughts were going through the elf's mind. Jynx shook her head with a sigh. " Don't get caught up in his world, darlin'...it's not real..." she murmured to herself and went to go pour herself a pint.

2005-10-24 [Akayume]: Hearing some of what the other woman said, Akayume got up and walked over to her. "I know that he might be.....a little off, but I still want to help him as best I can."

2005-10-24 [Igorina]: The halfling smiled faintly up at Akayume. " Shoulda know better to say anything within an elf's earshot, " she remarked as she finished drawing her drink and went around to pull herself up on a stool at the bar. She turned around, rested her elbows on the counter and looked at Akayume. " A little off? Try out of his bleedin' mind, darlin' " she said wryly. " What do you think you can do to help him, short of finding him a job? He has enough money for a night or two more on the floor, then..." She shrugged, noting the look on Akayume's face. 2005-10-24 [Akayume]: Akayume shrugged. "Its alright, Ill pay for his stay tonight. Besides, I think he might have been tramatized.....or something of that sort...It doesnt seem to be that he was crazy from birth."

2005-10-24 [Igorina]: Jynx nodded. " Mighty generous...he's already paid for the floor tonight. Perhaps tommorrow, " she said. She glanced over at the young man again. " Traumatized or born that way...I;d say just be careful being friendly with him. He's been imprisoned in an asylum at some point, that's plain to see just from watching him. Madmen have to be handled delicately..."

2005-10-24 [Akayume]: "I know. My brother went insane at the age of 120." Akayume replied, walking away, back to her seat at her table. She resumed watching the man closly.

2005-10-24 [Lothuriel]: *Helena listened carefully to the conversation. Her mind wandered as she sipped her tea. "What would it be like to live so long, she wandered."

2005-10-24 [Igorina]: Jynx pursed her lips thoughtfully, shrugged and sipped her drink in silence.

2005-10-24 [Akayume]: Akayume's eyes felt heavy. She hadnt slept in a long time. After a while, She leaned back in her chair, and feel into a light sleep.

2005-10-25 [Raie]: *there's a flash of blue, and Raie appears on the floor, bleeding a bit from his wound at the neck.* "Help...me," he whispers, looking around at the various humans in the tavern

2005-10-25 [Akayume]: Akayume shot up in her chair hearing a voise, she had been sleeping lightly. She saw a man on the floor. She hurried over to him. "My God...." She whispered.

2005-10-25 [Raie]: ((goblin, it's a goblin)) *looks up at akayume through blurry eyes* "Werewolves, in the forest, surrounded me, got my neck..."

2005-10-25 [alexi]: *comes out of her room with a packet of healing herbs* I'm a healer, may I be of some help?

2005-10-25 [Raie]: *smiles from the floor, and turns to look at [alexi]* "Yes, you can try. What, do you have, that can patch, this wound?" he pants, weakly motioning to the large gash on his throat that is partially covered by a strange, blue liquid*

2005-10-25 [alexi]: *smiles reasuringly at [Raie]* "every herb you can imagine is in this pouch." *takes out pink colored leaves and applys them to the the gash* Now let me help you to a bed so that can do what it is meant for, no objections" she said firmly.

2005-10-25 [Raie]: *slowly gets up and leans on alexi, wincing as he moves his left arm, where another gash is located.* "Not likely, nobody's heard of my world," he laughs, picking up his pack with his other arm.

2005-10-25 [alexi]: *laughs softly at his comment* "when you are laying down then ill put some leaves on the other gash. Where is your world?" she asked to keep him distracted from his pain.

2005-10-25 [Raie]: "I don't know where my world is in relation to here, I got here through subtle blade. But methods of transportation set aside, Cajia is a far off land. I left to go explore the universe, had I known werewolves actually existed I would have stayed home!"

2005-10-25 [Akayume]: Seeing that the goblin(sorry, you dont need to have a heart attack, sheesh....) was taken care of, Akayume sat back down at her table.

2005-10-25 [alexi]: *laughs at his comment about the werewolves* "Have you found anything interesting in your travels?" 

2005-10-25 [Raie]: "I'll tell you later, where are we going?" *coughs again, he's not used to the warm climate.*

2005-10-25 [alexi]: "To a room it isnt far. I look forward to hearing what you have to say. I may be able to give you something for that cough." 

2005-10-25 [Raie]: "Thank you, and the cough's nothing, just a small alergic reaction to dogs," he laughs.

2005-10-25 [Raie]: *looks over to the barkeep, who's washing glasses.* "Oy, give me a private room," he says, tossing a gold coin over. "That's Cajian Gold, not sure if it's worth anything here, but it's all I have."

2005-10-26 [alexi]: "if youre sure thats all it is." she looked at him skeptically when she said this.

2005-10-26 [Juiced]: *the door opens and a girl with a worried look on her face walks in*

2005-10-26 [Raie]: *looks over at the girl who just walked in, and vomits up something green.* "ug, hello."

2005-10-26 [alexi]: *looks at him, a little green herself* "Are you alright?"

2005-10-26 [Raie]: "No, I feel rather ill. where is a bed, I want to go to sleep."

2005-10-26 [alexi]: "Alright, where's that person you tossed a coin to?" *looks around for someone who could help them to a romm*

2005-10-26 [travs the bean]: **the barkeep looked at the mangy looking creature. he had watched everything from afar and had let the others deal with the events keeping much to himself - ** so creature you want a room, i know your kind goblin- pesky little thieves, first to stab one in the back. **he stroked his chin for a moment, looking at the goblin**

2005-10-26 [Raie]: *stares back at the barkeep* "I also know your kind, human-ruthless conquerers, first to kill someone if they don't agree with you." *stares back at the barkeep*

Look he needs a room so he can rest and heal elsewise i wasted my herbs and these perticular ones are very hard to find."

2005-10-26 [Raie]: *turns to Alexi and smiles* "Thank you." *turns to Travs* "I understand your race's general distest for mine--we are obviously very different. But, I would appreciate if enough hospitality could be shown to give me a bed and something to eat. As I've said before, I've got the gold, do you have a room?"
